Can we use child restraints from overseas?

By law every child restraint sold in Australia must meet strict requirements, which are set out in Australian Standard AS/NZ1754.
This covers materials, design, construction, performance, testing and labelling of child restraints.
All restraints must carry the Australian Standard AS/NZ1754 sticker. Most overseas child restraints, including restraints from countries such as the UK and USA, do not comply with these Standards and cannot legally be used in Australia.

 

Do you carry liability insurance?

Anything Baby does hold public liability insurance for the hire of baby equipment and the installation of child car restraints.


Does the car seat or capsule come installed in the price

Anything Baby offers complimentary fittings for hired child car restraints.  Anything Baby installers have completed an accredited course and are certified installers.  Anything Baby reserves the right to refuse installation for any reason. We provide extension straps and gated buckles which must be returned with the car restraint at the end of the hire period.

You also have the choice to fit the car seat yourself as per the guidelines in the instruction book supplied with the seat.

  

Is the equipment sanitized?

All of our equipment is purchased brand new and is maintained in excellent condition.
We pride ourselves on the high standard of safety and cleanliness we offer.
We have strict quality control on the age and condition of our equipment. Each item is thoroughly inspected before each hire.

 

If I hire a car seat, how do I know it has not been in a crash?

All car seats, booster seats and infant carriers are always purchased new and have a full hire history. Anything Baby carries out safety checks on the return of each car restraint.

 

A piece of equipment has been stolen, what now?

If the product is stolen you will need to supply us with a written police report.  If the product was not adequately secured in a locked vehicle or home, we will charge you the replacement cost of a new item.

We have been involved in a car accident, what happens now?

If you are involved in any type of car accident, firstly we hope your family is safe. Secondly you need to inform us of what has happened. We will replace your car child restraint with another if required.  The restraint will be destroyed.  You will also need to complete a declaration stating that the restraint has been involved in an accident.

 We have damaged a piece of equipment, what happens?

If any equipment gets damaged, we review it in a case by case incident.  We understand that accidents happen, if significant damage we will charge you the replacement cost of the item or the cost to repair the item, if this is possible.

 

Can I extend my booking hire?

Your hire can generally be extended as long as the item is not already reserved for the next hirer. We cannot make any guarantees regarding availability of extensions. Generally we require a minimum of 2 weeks' notice before your hire expires to extend your current term, just so that it isn't booked out to anyone else.

 

I have booked a capsule and my baby has come early, what now?

If you have a current booking and your baby makes an earlier than expected arrival, please have your partner or friend call your local Anything Baby franchise or 1300 735 206. If your chosen product wasn't available we would be happy to supply you with an alternate car seat or capsule until your chosen product is ready.  Your hire dates will simply be changed to encompass the early arrival.
